Channel Islands National Park

The Channel Islands have been called the Galapagos Islands of the United States, these beautiful islands are home to some unique, endemic species found nowhere else in the world. As someone who loves photographing mammals, one of the most exciting animals I’ve found to photograph in all the national parks is the island fox.

Think of a fox half the size of a house cat. They are tiny. On top of that, they have no natural predators on the island so they are generally indifferent to humans. THEY ARE JUST GOOFY LITTLE GUYS LIVING A FEARLESS LITTLE LIFE AND I LOVE THEM.

Also found are island scrub jays! They’re very similar to regular scrub jays, but they live here instead.
